The Challenge: Dozens of USB Devices, One Rack, No Room to Spare

AI and GPU compute labs run more USB-connected hardware than most environments ever will: firmware-flashing fixtures for boards coming off the line, license dongles that gate EDA and simulation software, debug probes and logic analyzers on automated test benches, and edge-module programming stations that provision dozens of devices before they ship. Every one of these needs a stable, full-speed USB connection back to a host — and in a lab or production line, that host is usually a server rack, not a desk.

The usual answer is to stack several consumer-grade hubs side by side, each with its own external power brick, each contributing its own point of failure. In a 1U or 2U rack that's already packed with compute and networking gear, that approach runs out of rack space and cable management long before it runs out of devices to connect.

Why 1UTP32 Is Unique in the Industry

The AOK-1UTP32 puts 32 independent USB 3.2 Gen1 ports — each running at a full 5Gbps — into a single 1U rack enclosure, with power built in rather than farmed out to external adapters. As far as we've been able to confirm, no other manufacturer currently ships a product that combines all three of these at once: 32 ports, USB 3.0/3.2 speed, and a true 1U form factor with internal power.

The closest publicly available alternative, the Tripp Lite U280-032-RM, matches the 32-port count but stops at USB 2.0 and needs 2U of rack space to do it. For labs where every rack unit is already spoken for and every port needs full USB 3.0 throughput — flashing firmware, programming devices, or running automated test sequences against dozens of units in parallel — that gap matters.

Core Capabilities

■

Full USB 3.2 Gen1 Speed, All 32 Ports

Every port runs at 5Gbps, not a throttled fallback speed reserved for a handful of "priority" ports — important when the task is flashing firmware or transferring test data at volume.

▲

Power Built In, Sized to the Job

Choose a 160W internal supply (5W per port) for mixed, moderate-draw devices, or a 320W internal supply (5V/2A, 10W per port) when every one of the 32 ports needs to run at full load simultaneously — no external brick, no extra rack space for it.

★

Dual-Host Split Mode

Run all 32 ports from a single upstream host sharing 5Gbps, or split the unit into two independent 16-port groups, each with its own host connection and its own 5Gbps share — useful for isolating two parallel test or programming stations on one physical unit.

◆

Built for Continuous Lab Duty

Dual cooling fans, ESD and surge protection on every port, and a metal rack-mount chassis designed to run unattended for long test cycles rather than occasional desktop use.

Application Scenarios

Firmware Flashing & Device Programming Racks

Production and QA lines that flash firmware or provision configuration onto boards, modules or edge devices in batches. 32 full-speed ports from one host (or two hosts via dual-host mode) means more units programmed per rack cycle, not more racks.

Software License Dongle Farms

EDA tools, simulation software and other engineering applications that gate access through physical USB dongles. Centralizing dozens of dongles on one rack-mounted hub keeps them organized, powered and reachable by a license server without a tangle of individual hubs.

Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Benches

Hardware validation setups running many debug probes, logic analyzers or test fixtures in parallel against boards under test. Dual-host mode lets two independent test stations share one physical unit without their traffic colliding.

Edge Device & Module Provisioning Labs

Labs that image, flash or burn in edge AI modules and single-board computers before shipment. A single rack of 1UTP32 units can keep dozens of devices connected and powered through a full provisioning cycle.

Why AOK

AOK Electronics has built industrial USB connectivity hardware since 2008. The 1UTP32 was designed for exactly the gap described above — a rack where 32 real USB 3.0 ports and built-in power both have to fit in 1U, because the rack space and the budget for external power bricks simply aren't there.

As an OEM/ODM manufacturer, AOK can adjust the internal power budget, upstream configuration or housing branding for integrators deploying 1UTP32 at scale across test labs, production lines or data center racks.
