The transmitter encodes USB data for transport over a standard Ethernet or fiber optic cable; the receiver decodes it back to native USB signals. From the perspective of both the host computer and the connected devices, the connection behaves exactly like a direct USB cable — no driver installation, no software configuration, no IP addresses to manage.
